Highlights
The University of Arizona is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona. Established in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature, it was the first University in the Arizona Territory.
Outstanding academic programs and exceptional value are the main draws to the global 100 institutions. Approximately 4000 international students from around the world travel to study at the University of Arizona.
The institution has its own Museum of Art, Center for Creative Photography, and Arizona State Museum. Numerous computer labs offer access to the latest hardware and software, amongst other services such as student support. The Centennial Hall and the UA School of Music Concert Hall are performance venues for hosting concerts and other cultural events.
Students can choose to live on or off campus, depending on their individual requirements. The University of Arizona has a range of on-campus accommodation for students so they can choose the best fit for their preferences. Traditional residence halls, suite-style residence halls, and apartment-style residence halls are all options with a range of meal plan options.
There are 23 dorms at the University of Arizona and specialty living-learning communities. Students can request their dorm roommates or be assigned a random roommate from the University. The campus is kept safe and secure so students can socialize and live together in a close-knit community. Some students choose to live nearby by using the housing search tool.
Student life on campus is eventful because there are plenty of opportunities for entertainment and continuing education. The campus is multicultural due to the high international student population, with International Friends, Inc. as a volunteer organization that brings everybody together.
Since there are so many students, there is a similarly high number of student clubs: an estimated 400 student organizations are arranged across campus. The Student Union offers dining options, meeting spaces, study areas, and recreational facilities.
The University of Arizona boasts a range of facilities that simplify student life. There are several libraries for students to choose from. The Main Library has several study and research assistance services and a wide range of books and other learning materials.
The many first-rate on-campus laboratories support engineering, health sciences, environmental studies, and astronomy research. Multiple recreation centers have fitness classes, sports facilities, and wellness services.
Campuses
Tucson has several student-friendly areas as the cost of living is reasonably low, and there is a lot of open space, cafes, bars, and museums to provide entertainment. Mexican food is prevalent here as the area is known for providing first-rate dining experiences and exciting nightlife varieties that feature local craft beer and country & western saloons.
There is also plenty of opportunity for hiking or other outdoor activities in the area's vast landscape. Sunshine is a near-constant weather forecast for Tucson, so students should prepare for scorching summers and dry winters compared with other states in the US.
