Create your ETS account
Before registering for the GRE exam, you should create your ETS account. So, visit the official website of ETS and create your ETS account. Remember that the same first and last names you use for creating an account will be used when you register for your GRE test. So, make sure your first and last names match the names on your ID documents. If the user name does not match your ID documents, you won't be able to take the test, or your test scores will be canceled.
Select your GRE Test
After creating your ETS account, Click on Register/Find test centers, dates under My Test to select the GRE Test you want to take - GRE General Test or the GRE Subject Test. The GRE General Test evaluates analytical writing and verbal and quantitative reasoning, while the GRE Subject Test evaluates a student's proficiency in a particular subject. Select test location
After selecting the test you want to take, select the place where you want to take the test. Select either test at home or find test centers at or near this location. If you select the find test centers at or near this location, enter your preferred location and click on the Continue button.
You can take the GRE General Test at home or any particular test location, but the GRE Subject test can be taken at paper-delivered test centers. The GRE General Test at home is similar to a test taken at a test center and is convenient for candidates preferring taking their test at home. These tests are monitored through ProctorU®, and testing is available seven days a week.
Select GRE test date and time
After clicking on the Continue button, you will be redirected to a page showing available dates for the GRE test and time slot at your specified location. Click your preferred test date, select the time slot, and click on Register.
Review your information
After selecting the date for the GRE Test, you will be asked whether you have a disability or health issue and need testing accommodations.
