SUNY Plattsburgh boasts world-class facilities. The academic buildings are steeped in history, lined with well-equipped laboratories, classrooms, and offices that provide students with the opportunity to enhance their learning experience. In keeping with their belief that free access to information is a human right, a wealth of resources are readily available at Feinberg Library.

There are also athletics facilities such as Field House, which contains a cardio deck, weight room, basketball and racquetball courts, and an indoor track. The Angell College Center houses the Student Union, where a lounge, food court and individual meeting rooms can be utilised by students. Similarly, there are a range of dining options offering on-site snacks and meals.

Plattsburgh is rich with activity due to its New York location. As New York City is a short bus ride away, students are able to enjoy the tourist attractions and rich culture of one of the most famous capital cities in the world throughout their time at the university.

Plattsburgh is rich in American history so there are several museums you can visit to get to grips with the local culture, or you can enjoy the commercial sights and restaurants of uptown New York, as desired.


World-renowned companies such as IBM and the Washington Internship Institute actively recruit students from SUNY Plattsburgh for both internships and jobs. Students also have access to an expansive internship program and a major career fair that is hosted annually by the university. Professional workshops and training sessions are provided by the university for students to improve their interview skills, resume and networking so they are prepared for a career. The career center similarly offers to help students with finding employment opportunities and the co-op programs the university runs give students hands-on experience in their chosen field.


SUNY Plattsburgh award partial scholarships concurrently with the admissions letter of all international students. There is no individual application: the amount is configured after conducting a review of the students grades, exam scores, activities and academic/non-academic achievements, where applicable. All award packages cover between 20-40% of the total cost of attendance. Some of the awards available include the Campus Community Award for those residing on campus, the Global Diversity Award and the Academic Merit Scholarships. Their scholarship packages are renewable upon each year of attendance.
