Working within the sphere of nursing, the Nursing Associate delivers high quality person-centred care across health and social care settings. The Nursing Associate works within all aspects of the nursing process, taking account of the perspectives and pathways of individuals, their families and/or carers providing holistic and person-centred care to individuals, supporting the registered nurse in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.The Nursing Associate is a highly trained support role to deliver effective, safe and responsive nursing care across a wide range of health and care settings. Nursing Associates work independently and with others under the leadership and direction of a Registered Nurse within defined parameters to deliver care in line with an agreed plan. The Nursing Associate programme offers a highly rewarding and challenging career which will provide you with a combination of practical and theoretical training to achieve a qualification that will allow you to make an important contribution to delivering safe and effective care across the lifespan. At UEL, we work with a number of local leading trust partners who offer innovative placement experiences that span both physical and mental health. You will experience a broad range of environments for you to develop the knowledge skills and behaviours required to develop confidence and experience as a Nursing Associate. The nursing programmes at UEL thrive on the supportive relationship with practice partners across the communities of East London and serves to support the health and social care needs of the local population. You will gain experience in delivering patient centred care for people who may wish to be cared for at home, in a community setting or in a hospital setting. You will gain experience across the four fields of nursing which cover: Adult, Child, mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing. You will support patients to make decisions about their healthcare needs and support those who may have complex healthcare needs. You will be working in a rapidly developing environment with evolving new technologies and new ways of delivering healthcare where you will play a pro-active part of an inter-professional team.The Nursing at UEL will provide you with a strong foundation for becoming an accountable evidenced based nurse with the leadership skills to support high quality care in the local community of East London and beyond.On completing the course, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the NMC as a Nursing Associate.A career in nursing offers opportunities for a career in a broad range of fields across the NHS and private sectors in hospital, community and social care.
