BA (Hons) Screenwriting

If you love films and books, and you are keen to develop skills in writing for the screen, then this could be the course for you. You’ll learn screenwriting methods and techniques as well as gaining a solid grounding in the fundamentals of creative writing across a range of genres. Alongside your own creative practice, you will deepen your understanding of the film and screen production industries, and your appreciation of excellence in writing. Along the way you will develop skills in research, analysis and debate. You will also get the chance to work collaboratively with other writers and screen production practitioners. The course will equip you with practical skills required to pitch your own projects and to polish original work to a professional standard. Additional Costs: Placements - The nature and suitability of your work placement is decided in consultation with your tutors. You are responsible for making your own arrangements for any travel or incurred costs in relation to the placement module, or in relation to the optional placement year if you chose to undertake one as part of your degree.
