The University of Idaho is a land-grant, national research university with a residential campus in Moscow. The Student Union Building includes a food court, coffee shops, student government offices, meeting rooms, a game room, a movie theatre, and a ballroom, showcasing the University's commitment to providing student leisure opportunities.  A Women's Center was implemented to promote gender equity on campus. The Kibbie Dome is the largest indoor event facility in the state of Idaho, and the Lionel Hampton School of Music hosts a variety of concerts and performances throughout the year.

Moscow is a city in North Central Idaho, United States that is often rated as one of the "Best 100 Small Art Towns in America. The Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Festival Dance, Renaissance Fair, Rendezvous in the Park, Artwalk and the Prichard Art Gallery all take place here, attracting visitors from all over the world. The University of Idaho offers a range of scholarships for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate programs. Some scholarships available include the International Excellence Scholarship, the WUE Scholarship, and the Global Student Scholarship. The International Excellence Scholarship is given to incoming international undergraduate students with outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. The scholarship covers up to $22,000 per year towards tuition and fees. The WUE Scholarship is available to undergraduate students from participating western states in the United States, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The scholarship provides a reduced tuition rate of 150% of the Idaho resident tuition rate.

The Global Student Scholarship is available to undergraduate or graduate international students who have demonstrated financial need and academic excellence. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 per year towards tuition and fees.
