The University of Idaho is a land-grant, national research university with a residential campus in Moscow. The Student Union Building includes a food court, coffee shops, student government offices, meeting rooms, a game room, a movie theatre, and a ballroom, showcasing the University's commitment to providing student leisure opportunities. A Women's Center was implemented to promote gender equity on campus. The Kibbie Dome is the largest indoor event facility in the state of Idaho, and the Lionel Hampton School of Music hosts a variety of concerts and performances throughout the year.
Students can live on campus or use the free public transit system to commute to campus. Several residence halls on campus are staffed with trained student leaders and professional staff to keep students safe. Living arrangements typically consist of shared common areas, lounges, kitchens, study spaces, and shared bedrooms. Apartment-style living is available for students who want to live independently as they usually consist of private bedrooms and communal facilities. Students can easily access University resources and amenities. Family housing is also available for those who need to use amenities such as parks and playgrounds.
A Recreation Center is also located on campus, with a fitness center, indoor track, basketball court, volleyball courts, a climbing wall, a swimming pool, and outdoor recreation fields all included.
Students in specific disciplines also benefit from the use of laboratories.
The University library is the largest in the state of Idaho. Therefore, students are well-supported in terms of literary resources, with many books, journals, and other media available. Research assistance and instructional support are two of the support services available at the library.
The volunteer centre connects students to opportunities for social action, and the Office of multicultural affairs celebrates multiculturalism on campus. Intramural sports allow students to contribute to team, individual, dual and leisure events at a competitive or recreational level. Over 200 student clubs are available at the University, each representing various interests.

Moscow is a city in North Central Idaho, United States that is often rated as one of the "Best 100 Small Art Towns in America. The Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Festival Dance, Renaissance Fair, Rendezvous in the Park, Artwalk and the Prichard Art Gallery all take place here, attracting visitors from all over the world.
