The University of North Texas is one of the largest universities in America. Established in 1890, the University offers 112 bachelor's, 94 master's and 38 doctoral degree courses and is ranked as a tier 1 research university by the Carnegie Classification. Lots of international students at the University of North Texas (UNT) choose to live in on-campus accommodation, especially during their first year of studies. Maple Hall, College Inn, Bruce Hall and Mozart Square are all popular residence halls in which students choose to live, however there are 15 in total. The vibrant multicultural community at the University welcomes international students into their new home with cultural events and a wealth of amenities. The residence halls are equipped with community rooms with study lounges, common areas with community TVs, laundry rooms, vending machines, outdoor grills and recreational facilities.
Apartment-style living options are also available on campus for students who require more privacy. Facilities like kitchens and living rooms are included in the apartments: Victory Hall, Honors Hall, and Rawlings Hall. The University of North Texas (UNT) offers specialised housing communities based on academic or social interests so there are plenty of housing options arranged by the University. International students can also opt for family housing.
Off-campus housing options are available via nearby private rentals in the Denton area. There is a large Greek community presence at the University, with fraternities and sorority houses offering accommodation options.

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education names the University as a top university for a diverse environment so international students settle in comfortably, with a range of cultural celebrations and specialised student clubs to participate in.
UNT's Mean Greens dining hall received an A+ rating and Dean's List status for the sixth straight year on the 2019 Vegan Report Card. Over 450 student clubs are set up at the University - more than most universities, enabling students to join societies such as the Debate society, Engineers United and the Multicultural Greek Council.
