Highlights
Valencia College is a public college in Orlando, Florida. The provider offers over 100 degree programs in several fields including, General Studies, Engineering, Hospitality, Management/Tourism, Business, and Information Technology.
After opening in 1967, Valencia has become a leader in higher education with a reputation for student success. The College offers affordable education and it was recently named the best community college in the US and won the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
Across its seven Orlando campuses, Valencia College has a range of resources for students. The East Campus is the main college campus and it has facilities for Performing Arts Center, dance, music and film courses.
The College provides on-campus accommodation in downtown Orlando at Union West Student Living. Here students can stay in modern apartment-style accommodations with all the necessary amenities. These include a personal mini-fridge, WIFI, cable TV and individual or shared living options.
Alternatively, Valencia support staff can help international students to find off-campus accommodation. Some alternative options include a homestay with a local family in Orlando, shared or private apartments or hotel living.
The college also has three Fitness Centres that offer discounted student membership. Here students can join fitness classes or use the state-of-the-art weight and cardio machines.
It also has the largest college library. Students can find databases, journals, ebooks, computing facilities, printing options and study areas. The West, Osceola, and Lake Nona campuses have more course-specific resources available. These locations cater for students studying Sciences, Medicine and Engineering.
At Valencia, students are welcomed into a positive learning environment that focuses on improving student outcomes. As a result, students can join the college community through events, clubs and student-led experiences.
Currently, Valencia has many student clubs and organisations. Students can join Intramural Sports teams or participate in clubs for languages, culture, religion, dance and politics. In addition, the student union runs many cultural events to celebrate the college's diversity. Annually, music and dance performances, film festivals and food markets are organised to help students to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Campuses
With its campuses spread across Orlando, students at Valencia can easily access some of the best US and Florida tourist destinations. Downtown Orlando is a vibrant area with a diverse population. As a result, hundreds of cultural festivals and fairs are organised each year. Plenty of shopping is also available and hundreds of bars, restaurants and cafes are inspired by different international communities.
Students at Valencia can also head further afield to access Orlando's nature reserves and beaches. Here watersports, outdoor hiking and boating are all available, Nearby are also the world-renowned Orlando theme parks such as Disney World, Universal, and Busch Gardens.

Last year, Valencia scholarships were awarded to 9,777 students, with $9,154,311 provided in total. The college has various merit and need-based financial aid and scholarships for international students. Among these are the Valencia College Global Achievers Award, the Global Achievers Award and the Global Achievers Transfer Award. In addition, students from particular countries and regions can apply for the external Florida-Linkage scholarship.
