BEng (Hons) Civil and Structural Engineering

This BEng programme equips you with the underlying knowledge and skills you need to become a creative Civil and Structural Engineer, capable of planning, designing and overseeing the construction of sustainable structures and transport infrastructure systems.Civil and Structural Engineering involves the design, construction and maintenance and repair infrastructure such as roads and bridges, buildings, and underground transport systems.You’ll develop a broad knowledge of geotechnical, structural, environmental and management aspects of civil engineering, and gain the computing, mathematical, drawing and communication skills you need as an engineer.On completion of the programme you’ll be able to enter a range of graduate civil engineering roles. The additional academic year enables further study of the technical and managerial aspects of civil and structural engineering, and provides the fastest route to Chartered Engineer status. **Professional accreditation**This course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators which includes the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE), and satisfies the educational base to becoming an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
