Highlights
Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, is a public college in Ontario. The institution runs courses at various postgraduate levels and specialises in market-drive programs. Some of the leading courses at Georgian include Engineering, Health, Food and Hospitality, Business and Telecommunications.
The college opened in 1967 to provide post-secondary learning opportunities to local students. However, Georgian has grown to offer higher education for over 13,000 full-time students and international students from over 60 different countries.
At Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, students have several on-campus and off-campus housing options. First, students can select the on-campus accommodation option. However, these are only available for those located at the Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound campuses. Alternatively, the college can support students with finding a landlord or host family to stay with off-campus. Georgina staff also have resources and tips available to help you safely find somewhere to stay off campus.
Across its six campuses, Georgian has a range of modern leisure and academic facilities. First, students can access IT services and libraries at five campuses. Among the library resources are subject-specific books, online databases, ebooks and academic support. The college also has modern classrooms and teaching facilities and some practical learning areas.
Extracurricular and social facilities are located on campus. For instance, the college has food vendors, cafes and restaurants at five of the six campuses.
The college's 100-acre flagship campus in Barrie is just an hour north of Toronto. Georgian College has an inclusive and diverse outlook. From arrival, students are supported so they can settle into college life. The establishment offers individualised orientation and mentoring services so international students can feel at home.
Moreover, across the six campus locations in the Georgian Bay area, students will experience a fun community lifestyle. Social, academic, cultural, and sports clubs are available at various campuses too. Also, students can take part in regular on-campus events and socials, run by the Georgian College Students' Association (GCSA).
