MA Philosophy

Course Overview

This programme allows you to pursue and develop your interests across the discipline of philosophy. It builds on a core module, which introduces you to central disciplinary skills and knowledge, with choice from a range of optional modules in the various sub-disciplines.

You will take five taught modules each assessed by a 5,000 word essay. The programme culminates in the writing of a 20,000-word dissertation in a subject area of your own choosing that has been agreed in partnership with an academic supervisor.
