Which services will we need to cope with an ageing population?Health and social care is evolving in our modern society. We’re seeing many changes to the way our healthcare systems work, from devolution in Manchester to an integration of health and social care services, as well as the introduction of the new nursing associate role in England.This exciting course provides you with both an academic and professional qualification that gives entry to a range of careers within nursing. The course will prepare you for a role as a nursing associate which is intended to complement registered nurses.The nursing associate course offers new routes into registered nursing roles and shortened entry to honours degree nursing courses.We’ve designed this two-year course to help you develop the practical clinical skills and techniques (such as how to give an injection) you’ll need to work in health or social care settings, as well as the confidence to work as part of a larger team.You may practice some clinical skills alongside students on our BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing course, in our Clinical Simulation Suite. You’ll also work with them on the simulated scenarios we create there, such as major trauma management where a patient involved in a motorbike accident arrives who needs stabilising and emergency care.
