Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology is a public education provider in South Island, New Zealand. The institution has been offering students post-secondary courses for over 100 years. Today, Nelson Marlborough offers over 100 qualifications from certificate to postgraduate level.

Currently, Nelson Marlborough has on-campus accommodation available at the Nikau Apartments (Nelson campus). The apartments have 42 apartments in three blocks. Single-bed options are available, while students can also share with two, three or four coursemates. Also, shared living areas, kitchens and en-suite bathrooms are available and each apartment has fast wifi.
Alternatively, students can find flatmates to share with through the university. Homestays are also an option, where students stay in a rented room with a host family in Nelson.
In addition, Nelson Marlborough has various leisure facilities for students to use outside of their classes. A state-of-the-art recreation centre and sports courts and Astroturf sports area are accessible to all students.
On-campus, students can use the library, which has course-specific learning material and a range of quiet or collaborative study areas.
Café Ake Ake in the NMIT Student Centre provides a meeting point for students, with affordable food and drink on offer.
Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology is known for its vibrant community on campus. Experienced, industry-savvy teaching staff know their students by name, which creates a supportive and communal environment.
As a result, the provider has an active and engaging student support group. Here, students can utilise a range of online and in-person and find resources such as student groups and discounts. Furthermore, the SANITI student group organises regular events, and off-campus trips and gives social, financial and academic advice to students.
