BA Philosophy
The Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Sacred Heart provides you with the place and the tools to reflect on many of the profound questions that humanity has asked and pursued over the centuries. A rigorous curriculum covers the major branches of philosophy including logic, epistemology, ethics, anthropology, and metaphysics, among others. A broad range of elective courses cover topics on historical movements, great philosophical figures of the past and present, perennial philosophical themes, and contemporary issues.
The Philosophy major is a 30-credit program that can easily combine with a second major and with any minor or concentration.
Students who wish to continue on to law school can apply to the 3+3 Bachelor’s & JD program, a collaboration between SHU and Seton Hall University.
Philosophy prepares graduates for a wide array of jobs, the kind that can lead to more skilled mid-level positions later on.
