MA Religious Education
Saint Louis University's Department of Theological Studies offers a Master of Arts in Religious Education (M.A.R.E.) geared toward students who want to earn a degree that will prepare them to work as a religious educator in a parish setting or a theology teacher in Catholic schools. This program offers students an introduction to the major fields of theological study and pedagogical training and practical experience through a joint degree with the SLU School of Education.
The M.A. in religious education program consists of a two-year program of study that includes 36 credits of coursework. Fifteen credits, including a three-credit practicum, are taken in SLU's School of Education. The remaining 21 credits are taken in SLU's Department of Theological Studies.

Resources for theology students at SLU include the more than 37,000 microfilms of the Vatican Film Library, the archives of the Institute of Jesuit Sources and more than 150,000 volumes of the Divinity Library in the Pius XII Memorial Library (which contains 1.4 million books, journals and other media). The library also provides access to many key research resources, including the Patrologia Latina, Brepolis, Early English Books OnLine, ATLA, Catholic Periodical Index, J-STOR, Index of Christian Art, and electronic access to major journals and other indexing tools.
