International Foundation Year in International Business, Economics and Accounting - Kingston University London

This module will introduce you to a range of core aspects of business, including the different types of enterprise and key business functions such as marketing, finance and human resource management. You will develop an understanding of how businesses need to adapt their marketing to operate in a dynamic business environment. You will explore how businesses recruit, organise and motivate employees. You will also develop an understanding of managing businesses finance and measuring business performance. These themes also link to external influences that have an impact on businesses, including ethical behaviour and economic and legal factors.

The Foundation Academic English Skills module aims to provide thorough training in the language and related academic skills which will enable you to best achieve your academic potential at Kingston University London and ensures you are able to meet the requirements of the UKVI through demonstrating an English language level of CEFR B2 in the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

This module will introduce you to the dynamics at play in the social, political and economic dimensions of globalisation, with contemporary case studies provided throughout. Using the various perspectives on globalisation, you will be invited to explore important global issues and think critically about the influence of state and non-state actors on world politics.

This module will give you an introduction to the basic principles of accounting and finance. You will develop an understanding of the purposes, principles, concepts and techniques of accounting. You will learn to to apply accounting concepts, principles and techniques to record financial transactions and to prepare financial statements. You will also develop your skills in numeracy, application, interpretation, analysis and evaluation using accounting data and information, as well as core study skills including methodical and critical thinking, summarising and presenting numerical information in an appropriate format.
