Event and Tourism Management Certificate
The purpose of the 12-hour graduate certificate is to offer professionals in hospitality, tourism or other allied industries the opportunity to build skills and knowledge in critical analysis and subject content.
Upon advisement of the Graduate Coordinator, the student will complete 12 hours of content-based courses in the area of specialization. All 12 hours must be completed through UNT and with CMHT (CMHT and HMGT) courses. All certificates may be completed with 100% online courses. Some Certificate programs have resident campus course options.
Continuing from G.A.C. to M.S. in Hospitality Management
Certificate students who choose to continue in a graduate degree program are required to meet all the requirements of that specific degree program. Students in the G.A.C. Event and Tourism Management can apply for the program and submit remaining application materials to be reviewed for admittance to the M.S. in Hospitality Management. Satisfactory work (minimum of a B grade) on graduate courses for the certificate may be applied to a 36-hour Master of Science degree program upon advisement of the graduate adviser, department chair, and the student’s major professor, who will be selected when proceeding for a degree.
