Sociology Majors
In every society, there are social norms that guide our behavior. If you're interested how we work, live and play together, consider an undergraduate Sociology degree from UWA. In this program, you will learn to understand the social constructs that help communities thrive. You may choose between a traditional track of study, a criminal justice focused track or a social work specialty. You may also obtain a dual degree in Sociology and Social Work through UWA and the University of Alabama. During this program, you will develop hands-on research skills necessary for completing an independent research project from start to finish and become versed in survey construction, data collection and statistical programming. You will be given the opportunity to present your work at various conferences throughout the Alabama/Mississippi area as well as at the regional or national levels.
