This option allows you to live with a local family so you can improve your English language skills, immerse yourself in the local food and social culture, plus live nearby to Whitireia and WelTec. Flatting is another option, whereby you rent a house with friends close to the campus.

Location

Petone is known for being aesthetic, lined with trendy cafes and boutiques. The area is steeped in history, with many churches along the streets and Petone Wharf remaining one of the last remaining pieces of the area’s rich industrial past. The Hikoikoi Reserve is a park and walkway at the mouth of the Hutt River nearby that even features a golf course for people to enjoy some leisure time. The Petone Rotary Fair is an annual event that draws people from all over the world and gives all money raised to charity.
