Liverpool John Moores University is located in the northern dock city of Liverpool, England.
The university was first established in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Art. Today, it is the 35th largest university in the UK.
It is highly ranked for teaching and research in Sports and Exercise Sciences.
Campuses
The university is separated into two campuses in Liverpool, England.
1. City campus
The City Campus is situated in the heart of Liverpool. The Great Crosshall Street and the Liverpool Exchange railway station are near the campus.
Some of Liverpool’s most impressive attractions are only a short walk from the campus. You can visit the Central Library, the Walker Art Gallery, the World Museum and St George’s Hall.
2. Mount Pleasant campus
The Mount Pleasant campus is next to the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and the Anglican Cathedral.
Liverpool is the birthplace of The Beatles. The city offers several music venues, museums, and galleries. Liverpool also has a rich maritime history. The Merseyside Maritime Museum and the Albert Dock stand as examples. The city also has two famous Premier League football clubs, Liverpool FC and Everton FC.
Liverpool is well-connected by public transport, including bus and Merseyrail trains. The Islington bus stop is just a minute's walk from the campus. The nearest train station is Liverpool James Street.
