Newcastle University dates back to the School of Medicine and Surgery established in the city in 1834. After mergers with several other colleges to form King’s College in 1937, the university was formed by an Act of Parliament in 1967. It’s a member of the Russell Group and has campuses in Singapore and Malaysia. It has over 28,000 students, including international students from 140 countries around the world.

It is one of the top 125 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2023. It’s also in the top 50 in the UK in the Complete University Guide and The Times/Sunday Times University Guide.
