The University of Westminster was founded in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institution, before receiving a royal charter a year later. It became a university in 1992 and adopted its current name. Its main campus is on Regent Street, with other campuses in Fitzrovia, Marylebone and Harrow and it runs a university in Uzbekistan.
