The campus comprises 750 acres of land and contains a wealth of high-quality facilities for students. The Esther Thomas Atkinson Museum and Library have more than 43,000 books, periodicals, academic journals, and other resources. The Statesman Fitness Center enables students to exercise and stay fit via various classes and free use of equipment. The sports complex consists of a gymnasium, tennis courts, a baseball field, and more spaces for sports. There is also a health center on campus to help students medically and to offer counseling services wherever necessary. Outdoor spaces include walking trails, a pond, and picnic areas for recreational use.

The student center contains a game room, dining hall, lounge areas, meeting spaces, and more opportunities for students to relax and socialize. Student clubs are often a big part of University life, so students with a wide range of interests can find their tastes reflected in the variety of student organizations and meet like-minded people by signing up for membership, which is usually free. There is lots of green space on campus and a modern feel to the University grounds. Various volunteer and student employment opportunities are available throughout the campus so students can prepare for their careers ahead of time.

The University is located in Prince George County, Virginia. The area is a fusion between country and city life, with plenty of greenery and fellow students residing there. Virginia is known for its surplus employment opportunities, safe feel, aesthetic outdoors, and friendly locals. West Virginia is an excellent place for mountaineering, while East Virginia has sandy beaches. Prince George County is just half an hour away from Petersburg or Sussex County while containing fun activities such as James River National Wildlife Refuge and Petersburg National Battlefield Park. Many tap houses and cocktail bars line the streets in Prince George County, Virginia.
