BA (Hons) Creative Studies and German
Creative Studies: This degree programme combines subjects across film, media and journalism, including audio and visual production, print journalism; digital media; film theory, and cultural studies. You will develop skills and techniques to produce media material as well as essential key skills for many of the creative industries. This course will equip you with a solid grounding in the theoretical, technical and practical skills required to make you a sought-after professional in these fields. Modules are assessed by coursework, presentations and essays and also offer the opportunity to submit practical work.
Our Creative Studies degree will equip you with the skills you need to forge a career in media, film and journalism. This exciting degree course is aimed at students who want to make a profession of their passion by attaining a theoretical grounding and historical understanding of how the news, film and media industry work, as well as being equipped with a broad range of production skills within different areas of the media, including documentary filmmaking, screenwriting, documentary filmmaking and journalism practice.
German: This course will equip you with advanced skills in the German language, as well as offering a broad range of specialised and detailed insights into the culture, society and history of the German-speaking lands. The course has language at the heart of it, with core modules developing the key oral, aural and written skills every year. These modules also foster cultural awareness, which you will need for your year abroad, and later on, for the world of work. This single honours course course will furnish you with extensive knowledge of the heritage and culture of modern Germany and Austria. You will also have the added bonus of studying Dutch in your second year which opens up further horizons within Europe.
