COURSE OVERVIEW

The aviation industry is vulnerable and exposed to threats from malicious or accidental events on a constant basis.

In order to be able to manage the impacts of any risks upon an organisation and its assets, there are multiple levels of planning which should be considered. Planning and subsequent management and operational activities must ensure that the organisation can not only anticipate, but also respond to an incident whilst it is happening and beyond, until full recovery has been achieved.

The need for organisations to not only understand the requirements for Aviation Organisational Resilience but also be able to put into place capabilities to effectively manage and respond, and to maintain alignment with wider organisational aims and objectives, is essential for maintaining viability.

With multiple and inter-related, interdependent sub-disciplines, a holistic approach to Aviation Organisational Resilience is not only desirable, but vital. Resilience will be a continuing concern for all elements of the aviation sector as it learns to respond to, and recover from, major and unprecedented disruption.

There is an increasing demand for both analytical and knowledgeable managers who are able to anticipate, plan and lead response and recovery. This programme will equip you with the key capabilities required to contribute to business and organisational viability in a meaningful way. The course is suited to industry professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of Aviation Organisational Resilience in the industry and to gain a postgraduate qualification. You may already be in employment with an aviation regulator, airport, airline or other air transport organisation and be released to enrol on this course as part of continuing professional development. Additionally, you may be a recent graduate that wishes to specialise in the planning for, and management of, resilience in any area of the aviation sector with a view to enhancing your career prospects.
