Ontario College Certificate Mechanical Techniques - Gas and Sheet Metal
In this unique program, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed for the Gas Technician (G3) license while also completing the in-school training for the Residential Sheet Metal Apprenticeship (308R). The G3 license is required for many jobs in the construction trades including gas equipment installation, service work, parts sales, and research. Residential sheet metal work consists of installation for new construction and retro fitting new equipment. Upon successful completion of the program, you may qualify to write the G3 (Gas Technician) TSSA exam and you may also be exempt from the required in-school training for the Low Rise Residential Sheet Metal apprenticeship should you decide to pursue an apprenticeship in this trade. The combination of these skills will position you well to seek work as a Residential Sheet Metal Apprentice or an installer in the HVAC industry or many other opportunities within the mechanical construction trades.
