Associate in Arts (AA) Liberal Arts:Arts & Humanities
A liberal arts education is designed to help students develop a breadth of knowledge in the disciplines of humanities, the physical and social sciences, and mathematics. An AA Degree in liberal arts provides students with strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. In addition, this degree provides students with the lower-division coursework needed to transfer to and succeed in a four-year college or university.
These courses emphasize the study of cultural, literary, humanistic activities and artistic expression of human beings. Students will evaluate and interpret the ways in which people through the ages in different cultures have responded to themselves and the world around them in artistic and cultural creation. Students will also learn to value aesthetic understanding and incorporate these concepts when constructing value judgments.
