Associate in Arts (AA) Social Justice: Latino and Chicano Studies
La Raza Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides students with an in-depth analysis of the rich life experiences of Chicanas/os and Latinas/os in the Americas. The program emphasizes comparative and trans-border study of Latinos/as and indigenous people. Three major areas of focus include historical study, contemporary social issues, and literature. A degree in La Raza Studies will help students develop professional skills, ethical integrity, leadership skills, and access to professional networks and/or advanced degree programs.
An Associate in Arts Degree may be earned by completing a minimum of 60 units of degree credit coursework, including the major requirements and breadth requirements, with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Students must complete all courses for the major with a grade of C or better.
