Campus Life

Across its six campuses, Georgian has a range of modern leisure and academic facilities. First, students can access IT services and libraries at five campuses. Among the library resources are subject-specific books, online databases, ebooks and academic support. The college also has modern classrooms and teaching facilities and some practical learning areas. 

Extracurricular and social facilities are located on campus. For instance, the college has food vendors, cafes and restaurants at five of the six campuses. Students can also shop at the Georgian Stores for affordable course materials and food. Furthermore, high-quality fitness centres, sports fields and gyms are on offer.

City life

Georgian College’s main campus is in Barrie. The college is in the downtown area of the city and students will find a laid-back and friendly community. There is also plenty to take in, with local beaches, parks, restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Various hiking and cycling trails are also located in and around the city. Further afield, Toronto is just south of Barrie and a one-hour drive away.


Georgian College currently has one of the highest graduate employment rates among Ontario colleges. Recently, 90.3% of Georgian alumni found work within six months of graduation, which is above the provincial average. In addition, employers reported 100% satisfaction for the second year in a row for Georgian graduates. Whilst studying, students also get the opportunity to work with about 6,200 employers across Canada within the college network.


In recent years, the Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology has offered students over $3 million in financial aid. The college has over 650 scholarship and aid options for students. In addition, the institution has financial support programmes specifically for international students, regardless of their degree level. These include in-course awards and entrance awards.
