MSc Artificial Intelligence with Speech and Multimodal Interaction
Overview
If you have ever wondered how to build an AI system like Siri or Cortana which can understand human language and carry out conversations with people, or how to build an interactive robot that can speak with humans, then this programme will provide all the knowledge and skills you need. You will learn about Natural Language Processing, machine learning, spoken dialogue systems, multimodal interfaces, and Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). You will gain deep knowledge of spoken language understanding systems, and Natural Language Generation methods, as well as state-of-the-art dialogue management techniques. The programme also covers experimental design for the evaluation of conversational interfaces and by the end of it you will have developed and tested your own Conversational Agent, possibly by using one of our robots (e.g. Pepper, Nao, FurHat, or iCub). The MSc project can be carried out in collaboration with an outside industrial or academic organisation. The MSc programme is accredited by the British Computer Society.
