BA (Hons) Interior Design
Overview
Develop specialist skills in interior design whilst also collaborating with talented designers from textiles, fashion, and more in a specialist design school. This programme gives you the opportunity to develop a complete set of interior design skills spanning the creative process, materials and furnishings right through to retail and event design, architectural alteration and technology.
Express yourself with the latest tech. We’ll show you how innovative new technology can help you bring your interior design ideas to life. And we’ll give you the opportunity to work on real projects for big businesses. Recently our students have worked on live projects to develop interiors for Adidas, Herman Miller and Accor hotel group.
This exposure to live clients and stakeholders is something we’re proud of. We encourage you to use your time with us as an opportunity to work with more and more external partners, organisations and businesses. This helps you challenge yourself and develop connections and skills that will be invaluable after graduation – whilst also building a sense of identity as a designer. Many of our graduates go on to work in creative roles in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond, for companies like AECOM, Area, and IKEA amongst others. You could follow in their footsteps. 82% of our graduates reported in the National Student Survey that they were satisfied overall with their Interior Design degree.
How we teach
As a student on the programme you would be joining a diverse yet dedicated community of students studying interior design.
We appreciate all students are different and have designed the programme to be as inclusive and dynamic as possible. During your time with us you would likely collaborate with other students – from interior design and beyond – and from within the Edinburgh campuses and in Dubai in order to provide a truly global experience.
We teach using a variety of means and methods, from tutorials, to lectures, to site visits and more.
