The Master of Science in Exercise Science is a cross-discipline program designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to implement nutrition, sports performance, sport psychology, exercise and health promotion programs for a diverse population.

This 36-credit curriculum was developed to combine exercise physiology with three popular areas of study: sports nutrition, athletic performance and inclusive fitness. The program also offers academic flexibility with a wide range of elective courses. Within the program, students have the opportunity to prepare for Nationally recognized professional certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Additionally, an active research laboratory allows students a fully immersive learning environment.

Students may choose from one of the following tracks:

Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition: This track emphasizes the role of exercise in health and disease prevention, fitness testing and programming, physical activity intervention as experiential learning opportunities in a variety of settings.

Strength, Conditioning, and Sports Nutrition: Designed for individuals seeking to improve their knowledge and skills in the area of strength and conditioning of athletes. The program focuses on the science and practical application of current knowledge in the field. Students have the opportunity to earn national certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Inclusive Fitness: Offers students a unique opportunity to combine advance courses in exercise science, exercise prescription, and applied behavior analysis to design fitness and sports programs for individuals with a wide variety of needs.
