The main library on campus, Middleton Library, boasts an impressive two million volumes, allowing students to study together in communal areas or utilize their computer labs and other resources. LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is one of the largest animal hospitals in the country, and it offers specialized services such as equine surgery and oncology to animals big and small. Significantly, two museums are located on campus. The Louisiana State Museum displays the history and culture of Louisiana, including its role in the civil war, while the LSU Museum of Art showcases a collection of more than 6,500 works of art. The Rural Life Museum also provides an educational experience for students off campus. The LSU Student Recreation Center enables students to use cardio and weight equipment, indoor and outdoor pools and more to keep fit and healthy throughout the year.

LSU also has fantastic team sports facilities. Their football stadium is one of the biggest in the United States, seating over 100,000 people at total capacity. It also has a basketball and baseball arena, with the latter winning multiple national championships.
