Welcome to the homepage of Classical Studies at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Marshall University is the only four year institution in the state of West Virginia that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Latin. We offer two Latin BAs, one in the College of Liberal Arts and one in the College of Education and Human services. We also offer a Master of Arts in Latin through the College of Liberal Arts, and a Master of Arts in Teaching through the College of Education and Human Services. Additionally we offer a BA in Classics through the Humanities Program. This degree provides a unique opportunity for students to design their own interdisciplinary major. We have minors in Latin, Greek and Classics. Our courses in translation fulfill the humanities or literature requirements for many colleges at Marshall University, and many of these are writing intensive.
