BS Criminology
The Bachelor of Science in criminology is an interdisciplinary study of crime and the criminal justice system. It is the broad investigation of the roles that sociological and psychological factors play in determining how society defines crime, contributes to or deters criminal behavior and responds to victims and offenders. A minor in criminal justice is also available. Similar to the criminology major, students will learn the basic functions of criminal justice, the theoretical components behind criminal acts and the roles of courts and juvenile systems. Students have the opportunity to examine the anatomy behind crime and use this knowledge to build the foundation of their future career path. Students may also be interested in social reform and involvement in programs improving social conditions related to crime. If this seems like a good fit, then make a difference and study criminology!
