According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, employment of social and human service assistants is projected to grow 12 percent by 2031. If you've ever considered going into this field, now's the time! Northwest's human services program provides hands-on experiences from day one. By the time you finish this program, you'll feel confident in your ability to effectively help others. Coursework focuses on the prevention and remediation of problems and how to create a better quality of life. You'll also learn how to communicate with families, community members, clients and other stakeholders. In addition to honing skills and experience inside the classroom, students have the opportunity to get involved outside of the classroom. The behavioral sciences organization is a student-led organization that promotes good mental health in the Northwest community. Members can expand their knowledge about the behavioral sciences while engaging in philanthropic, networking and service-related activities at Northwest. Living a healthy and fulfilling life is more important now than ever. Graduates also report that the human services industry is extremely rewarding and reaps a sense of purpose.
