BSc (Hons) Geography (Physical)
Accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), this course has consistently high satisfaction rates. It explores a range of geographical issues important to the physical environment. You'll develop an understanding of the landscape around us, both in the UK and internationally. More specialised than the BSc (Hons) Geography route, you will focus on environmental issues, including scientific knowledge of the Earth's surface, its spatial variation, and its evolution over time. You’ll investigate physical and biotic aspects of the environment, including land use, water resources, and their management. You’ll also examine issues of global concern, including climate change, resource management, globalisation and international food security. The course also includes the chance to go on residential field trips both in the UK and overseas (these currently include Spain, North Wales and Derbyshire). Our uniquely positioned, rural Brackenhurst Campus acts as an outdoor classroom where you can put your learning directly into practice and gain a wealth of practical-based skills. It’s only a short hop to the bright lights of Nottingham city centre though, so you really do get the best of both worlds.
