The Global Studies Emphasis is a transdisciplinary study of globalization and the diaspora. Students will examine the migration of people, ideas, art, and products through an economic, cultural, and political lens. By taking selected courses in the emphasis, students will gain the knowledge, practice, and skills to offer equitable solutions to the planet’s most pressing global challenges.
Completion of the emphasis is noted on your transcript and prepares students to transfer into a Global Studies program at a four-year college or university. Many universities and colleges value a global and multicultural understanding. The emphasis opens doors to a variety of careers in international relations, human rights advocacy, museums, education, public service, health care, tourism, and international business.
