On our BA (Hons) Japanese Studies degree, you will become an expert in the Japanese language. You'll also explore the rich culture, history and politics of Japan.
Studying a degree in Japanese is rewarding. You'll learn to write in three scripts and experience the beauty of spoken Japanese. No prior knowledge of Japanese is required.
As well as studying Japan in depth, you'll learn about the Asia Pacific region. You'll discover why this region is so influential and plays a vital role in the global economy. You'll explore its culture, history, politics, and society. All while developing employability skills applicable to a wide range of careers.
In year 3, you will have the opportunity to spend a year in Japan through our study abroad programme. You can immerse yourself in the language and gain first-hand experience.
