BA (Hons) Social Work
Are you passionate about helping those in need? Our BA (Hons) Social Work meets Social Work England's professional standards. It will prepare you to work with some of society's most marginalised and disadvantaged people.
Our Social Work undergraduate degree has been developed in collaboration with social work service users, carers, and social work agencies. This means you'll be well prepared for the fast-changing and challenging world of social work.
As part of your degree, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience through 170 days of practice, including a 70-day first placement and a 100-day final placement. This means you focus on your learning while gaining practical skills in real-world settings
With placements in private, voluntary, independent, and NHS teams, you’ll receive comprehensive training that meets Social Work England’s professional standards, preparing you for a successful career in social work.
You can choose to study this course at either our Preston or Burnley Campus.
Our course aligns with Social Work England's professional standards, so you will be eligible to apply for professional registration when you graduate. There is also guidance on Social Work England's website about using your registered qualification to practise outside England. This includes guidance on applying to practice in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales; the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland; and outside the EEA.
