FdSc Hearing Aid Audiology
Our Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology allows you to earn as you learn. It's for professionals currently working within an audiology setting.
On this course you'll gain a solid foundation in auditory science, anatomy, physiology and pathology. With a strong focus on adult auditory assessment as well as the technology, fitting and verification of hearing aids. You'll also learn strategies and holistic approaches towards providing effective patient-centred rehabilitation. You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the codes of conduct, standards and ethics for Hearing Aid Dispensers.
The course is delivered in block weeks on campus where you will take part in lectures, workshops, seminars and practicals. There will be either two or three of these blocks per semester. Between the residential blocks learning takes place online.
Work-based learning plays a fundamental part in this two-year programme. A large part of your practical learning and teaching will take place within your workplace supported by a Practice Educator. You’ll also take part in practical sessions during your residential blocks at the University.
