This course combines studio art with masters level modules in the humanities, such as philosophy, English or film studies. It embraces all forms of fine art practice, traditional and contemporary, and will enable you to work across traditionally defined boundaries imposed by many fine art and humanities programmes.

You'll have access to the extensive on-site workshops available at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and can work across a wide range of media, such as:

You can individually tailor a part of your study and choose to complete the course with either an exhibition of creative work or a major written dissertation as your final project.

The course encourages both creative and academic research and you will be encouraged to read critically and analytically, and to develop your abilities in critical, contextual, and theoretical thinking. You will develop your understanding of research methods relevant to fine art and humanities research-based practices.

We run a University-wide lecture series, with speakers in English, film, and philosophy, which we encourage you to attend.
