BMSc (Hons) Human Reproduction, Assisted Conception and Embryonic Stem Cells (Intercalated)
Studying medicine gives you a clear path to becoming a doctor, but what if you’d like the opportunity to study a specific topic in more detail or explore a more lab-based or theoretical area of medicine? This is where an intercalated degree could be of benefit.
With an intercalated degree you can spend a year studying a topic of interest. This allows you to:
With reproductive health becoming a growing problem worldwide, this course focuses on placing the scientific principles of human embryology in a clinical context. On this course, you'll have clinical exposure to Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), perform laboratory- or clinically-focused research and gain an in-depth scientific and clinical understanding of ART.
You'll develop a strong foundation in the knowledge, academic, and laboratory skills needed for a career in reproductive medicine and will be taught by clinicians, reproductive biologists, embryologists and other staff that work in the Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) at Ninewells Hospital and the University of Dundee.
