What is Social Work MA?
This intensive course is your fast-track route to becoming a Social Worker registered with Social Work England. You’ll balance an interactive study programme with practical work experience in a social care setting.
You’ll be able to practise in your chosen field of children and families or adults, and across a range of areas – including statutory, voluntary, private and the independent sector.
Study style
You can study the MA over 20 months and the Postgraduate Diploma over 18 months. The course is assessed in a variety of ways, including assignments, exams and group presentations.
On the course your learning experience will be dynamic, interactive and experiential. You’ll learn about all areas of social work practice with adults and children - acquiring your knowledge with a variety of learning styles. With emphasis on experiential learning, your studies will include working in small tutorial groups, simulations, role play and group work.
Possible careers
Graduates from this course can go on to work as a Social Worker.
