Studying Sport and Exercise Science at Kent, you gain the extensive knowledge you need to become a qualified practitioner. Our wide-ranging degree, accredited by the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT), gives you the skills you need to make a difference across a number of sporting environments from improving the performance of elite athletes to working with members of the public including children, older people and those adapting to injuries, to improve their quality of life. Choose Sport and Exercise Science at Kent because:* our lecturers have top-level experience in sports training, treatment of injuries and rehabilitation, and sport psychology and their research underpins our teaching ensuring you learn about the latest thinking in the field* you have access to fantastic facilities including: cycling and rowing ergometers; brain and muscle stimulators; 3D motion video analysis; blood testing and gas analysis equipment; a rehabilitation gymnasium; an anti-gravity treadmill and an environmental chamber* following our move to the Canterbury campus you will also benefit from the wider Kent Sport facilities as well as the opportunity to be part of our new Kent Sport Clinic, which will be the most comprehensive sports performance clinic in the South East. * we have professional links with organisations such as British Cycling; UK sport; the English Institute of Sport; World Anti-Doping Agency; RFU; UEFA and the NHS* Team Kent, funded by the students’ union runs more than 60 different sports clubs and our large green campus is a great place for morning/evening runs or cycling * if you have competed at county level you can apply for one of the University’s sports scholarshipsOn this degree, you study key areas including exercise physiology, biomechanics, psychology, massage, injury prevention and rehabilitation. You also develop your research skills in advance of undertaking your research project. Alongside your research project, in your final year you can select modules to tailor your studies more specifically towards your career aspirations. While our excellent lab-based facilities and equipment ensure you develop key laboratory and practical skills.
