Course description

This postgraduate degree will provide you with advanced training in research methods in neuroscience, equipping you with the research and professional skills required for a research career.

The Department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour has particular research strengths in:

  • Cellular and molecular neurobiology
  • Cognitive and behavioural sciences
  • Perception and sensory processing
  • Health and psychological wellbeing

You will be encouraged to undertake a research project in one of these areas.

Teaching and learning

All teaching is seminar based, or in one-to-one tutorial and research supervision sessions, with continuous assessment in the form of a research protocol, oral and poster presentations, and in the development of portfolios of assessed activities. You will write a thesis on original empirical research, which will involve an oral exam (viva).
