MA by Research Journalism
This course gives you the opportunity to develop the ability to manage a complex research project of your choice, while demonstrating initiative and self-reliance in pursuing research goals. Current research areas in the School of English and Journalism include the history of cartoons, comics and print journalism; literary journalism; international human rights and journalism; and history of class, gender and ethnic communications. Graduates may go on to further study at doctoral level and may choose to apply for a PhD within the School, which has an established research environment. Career and Personal Development: The MA by Research is designed to provide preparation for a PhD, aiming to equip you with a strong foundation in research skills and independent study through the research and writing of a major dissertation. This may lead to further study at doctoral level or to career opportunities in the media sector.
