Peace Corps Preparation Certificate
For more than five decades, Peace Corps Volunteers in 140 countries have demonstrated ingenuity, creativity, and grit to solve critical challenges alongside community leaders.The Peace Corps Prep Program (PCPP) is a formal partnership between the University of North Texas and the U.S. Peace Corps to help prepare students for service as Peace Corps Volunteers or for global careers.
UNT’s Peace Corps Prep Certificate prepares students for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service in one of the following Peace Corps Work Sectors:
- Education
- Health
- Environment
- Agriculture
- Youth in Development, or
- Community Economic Development.
To accomplish this, students will build four core competencies:
- Training and experience in a work sector
- Intercultural competence
- Professional and leadership development, and
- Foreign language skills (optional).
Students create an ePortfolio to synthesize and reflect upon their UNT Peace Corps Prep experiences.
