Sports Media Certificate
UNT's Sports Media Certificate program, offered by the Mayborn School of Journalism, is designed to enhance writing, reporting, broadcast and multimedia skills for a career in the field of sports journalism.
The program teaches sports reporting, feature writing, column writing and visual news storytelling for web, broadcast and print. Students also study the impact of sports in society, sports as entertainment and business, and the ethics of sports journalism.
The certificate is not a separate major track, but rather an extension of the standard required coursework offered by the Journalism major. To qualify, students must have Journalism major status and meet specific departmental requirements.
