About the University

The university of Abertay is located in the stunning Scottish city of Dundee. 

Named University of the Year for Teaching Quality by The Times' Good University Guide 2021, the university has a strong reputation for its teaching quality.

Known for its specialist courses in computing and engineering, Abertay was the first university in the world to offer a computer games degree and the first in the world to offer a degree in Ethical Hacking.

It's campus is located in the centre of the city in a combination of historic and modern buildings.

The university has a broad range of accommodation options for its students. These include affordable residences within easy reach of campus. There are self-catered options, as well as en-suite and shared facility rooms.

A range of specialist facilities make Abertay stand out as a top destination. These include the Abertay Game Lab, Analytical and Biological Science Laboratories, an Emergent Technology Centre, the Tayside Centre for Counselling and The Urban Water Technology Centre. 

There is also a state-of-the-art library and excellent teaching and learning spaces across the campus.

Student life

The student centre building provides a focal point for student entertainment on campus. It is home to a bar, coffee shop and campus shop. The Students' Association coordinated all societies and also acts as representative of the students. Abertay has a range of societies and sports clubs, which compete both regionally and nationally.  

Dundee is a friendly and beautiful Scottish city, and students can explore its thriving industrial heritage and charming streets and businesses. The city lies on the waterfront and is a easy commute to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh and the stunning Scottish Highlands.
